Produce Yourself

What an idea!  Coaches frequently invite their clients to do just that.  And, women in the Second Half are at a prime time to do so as Marianne Williamson suggests:

“Maturity includes the recognition that no one is going to see anything in us that we don’t see in ourselves. Stop waiting for a producer. Produce yourself.”

Where are you when it comes to producing yourself? Are you at that initial generative stage where you sense something important wants to happen through you, and you are not clear what?  Are you burning with a desire to take the next step to launch your vision and gather resources to make it happen?  Are you ready to create a plan?  Whatever stage you are in, it is a fruitful and great place to be.  The world is waiting!

A recent and powerful evidence of a vision being realized was the Seeds of Compassion Conference.  As I watched the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu invite participants and viewers to embrace compassion as a way to more peaceful and loving communities, I sensed a shift beginning to happen.  I was also reminded that this amazing event was indeed the vision of Dan Kranzler, president of the Bellevue based Kirlin Charitable Foundation, and the Dalai Lama’s personal emissary for peace.  Dan believes that to create compassion in our society we need to start with the youngest, and he and others helped provide spiritual and scientific evidence that compassion can be cultivated in the very young.  What is the vision that is bubbling up within you?  What wants to be expressed through or guided by you?

I bring up the Seeds of Compassion for three reasons: (1) it is an example of people committed to their vision, (2) gathering those committed to well-being of the greater community together raises hope, and (3) a multitude of resources were brought together and shared.  Information on Emotional Intelligence is part of those resources.

One thing that bolsters or distracts from our reaching our visions is our Emotional Intelligence.  If we are able to be the “observer” of our own emotions we can make decisions on how to use them to our best advantage – good self management.  The Seeds of Compassion is promoting that skill building in the very young.  Those of us that were not blessed with that early childhood training are picking it up in various ways through our life time.  Fortunately, the work of Daniel Goldman and others have accelerated that process.

Working with a coach can also help accelerate your mastery of emotional intelligence.  You can get exposure to how this works by joining me and others in the “Waking Up to the Second Half Workshop” on May 17. Check the link for details on the workshop that can help you get in touch with your vision and resources for realizing it.

And when it comes to producing yourself in the Second half also consider:

1)    Reflecting on what is stirring with in you, and wants to be born?

2)    Who are you attracting and connecting with that can help you make your vision happen?

3)    What are you doing to strengthen your emotional intelligence to help you realize your desired outcome?
