I am on the last few days of a four-week adventure on the Island of Vashon. I came because I believed the change of pace would enjoyable and because I find the home I am caring for and its setting very attractive. What I was not prepared for is what a restoring rhythm I would discover here. (If you are yearning for some serenity right now, click here for a complimentary inspirational series.)
My heart is at home here. Wherever my eye turns there is another bright wonder. Around one corner there are delicate pink roses leaping into the air fearlessly – not asking “Will you catch me?” or “How far will I leap before I fall?” They don’t even ask how far they must leap, they just put all they have into effortlessly (it appears) reaching for the sun and in the process blissfully blessing whomever’s eye they happen to catch.
Love appears to be freely given as these flowers demonstrate “full self-expression.” And, to be sure, that very bush last fall had been given a purposeful and generous pruning optimize it’s health and beauty. Since I will not gaze on it much longer, I reflect on its message to me:
- How can I fully flower?
- What will I give up, so that I can have greater abundance overall?
This week I said “no” to tightly booking myself even though there was a “should” that had me procrastinate on the decision for days. And it was that “no” that ultimately allowed me to send friends off in a relaxed manner after a day of laughter, effortless flow and communing with nature and each other. One of the ways I am recapturing my harmonious rhythm is by respecting the “no’s” that intuitively arise from within me.
If you want to Relax, Reconnect, and Recapture your appreciation for yourself and your life and begin to restore your natural rhythm, join me for an experiential workshop that includes being pampered from head to toe on Saturday, August 2. To find out more, click here.
